Kerrie Angell

Originally from Maylandsea, Essex, Kerrie began to learning the piano at a very young age, following in the footsteps of her father; Peter Angell, who plays solely by ear and hasn’t ever read a note. For this reason her parents were keen for her to read music and Kerrie began seriously studying the piano and vocals throughout school and then onto performing arts college, it was there that she found her love for dance and musical theatre. Performing in shows such as Fame, The Wiz, Pandora’s Box and also dance shows with choreographers Penny Bubb and Shannon Malone.

Penny Bubb employed Kerrie as a singing teacher working at Mushroom Theatre Company, where Kerrie began putting on performances each week with all her students and organising weekend workshops.

In early 2009 Kerrie created her own YouTube page with the intention of recording a few covers for her friends and family. The page became a huge phenomenon and regularly received comments from all around the globe.

Surprised at the amount of positive comments and kind emails sent from fans Kerrie has become determined to do more of what she loves. Since her YouTube success she has been focusing on acoustic music much more and found acoustic is her favourite style. Kerrie has been writing her own music for many years but has only recently allowed others to hear her original work, she is planning to spend the next few months concentrating on this area of her music, getting in the studio and learning the guitar properly so that she can control her addiction to the piano.

Her Debut album is due for release January 2010.
